Man critically injured after being struck by TTC bus

A man is in hospital with life-threatening injuries after he was struck by a TTC bus early Wednesday morning.
 
The man, who is believed to be in his 60s, was struck by a northbound public transit bus near a bus stop on Dufferin Street, south of St. Clair Avenue West, at about 1 a.m.
 
Police said the man suffered serious head and facial injuries, and he underwent emergency surgery after he was rushed to hospital by paramedics.

Initially, police did not know the man's identity but they later confirmed they were able to identify him.
 
The cause of the collision is under investigation
