LASSA launches the new book entitled “School Transport Safety Guide” and YASA launches the new book “Media and non-governmental organizations”
The Lebanese Association for School Safety Awareness organized its annual dinner on the occasion of its 6th anniversary with the cooperation of YASA and LASIP in Rotana Hotel- Hazmieh.
An opening word was given by Ziad Halaby, from LASIP, started by introducing the importance of sports for children’s health and the importance of educating all children about safety in sports and recreational activities.
Joe Daccache, president of LASSA, welcomed the guests and launched the new book entitled “School Transport Safety Guide” which addressed the following points:
1- A small introduction about how many accidents can happen in schools (mainly in school buses). In addition to how parents can take precautions to protect their children while going to school (by foot, by car with their parents, or by bus)
2- The goal of the School Transportation Safety Guide
3- Challenges concerning the school transport guide book.
4- Precautions from school transportation accidents
5- Recommendations about the school buses and their condition
A welcome word from Ziad Akl, YASA founder, followed and talked about the new book “Media and non-governmental organizations” which addressed the following topics:

Following Ziad Akl’s was a touching word from Dr. Bernard Gerbaka, President of the Lebanese Union for Protecting Childhood and President of Child of Lebanon who talked about the importance of applying international treaty about children rights and children safety.
Moreover, Ms. Rahaf Abdallah, Miss Lebanon 2010 talked about her cooperation with YASA and LASSA for public safety and awareness, and about her participation in YASA simulation in cooperation with the civil defense in schools and universities.
